2024 World Scleroderma Day
Let’s Empower Your Health Journey!
Every year, on June 29th, our community comes together to celebrate World Scleroderma Day. On this day, we honor the courage of those living with scleroderma (also known as systemic sclerosis) and advocate for access to multidisciplinary care. This approach ensures that all aspects of the disease are addressed simultaneously, improving treatment outcomes and slowing disease progression for everyone living with scleroderma across Europe and worldwide.
Building on the momentum of 2022 and 2023, we continue our impactful campaign, “Find the Light to Bloom,” shedding light on the unmet needs of people living with this condition and the challenges they face in diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life.
This year, we invite everyone—from those living with scleroderma, their families, and caregivers to healthcare professionals and health policy decision-makers—to join our campaign. By harnessing the power of collaboration, we can provide individuals living with the disease access to comprehensive care, improving their treatment outcomes and quality of life. Together, we can empower the health journey of everyone affected by scleroderma and truly “find the light to bloom.”
Last year, as part of our journey towards “Find the Light to Bloom,” we conducted a patient survey to assess how different countries perform on criteria related to diagnosis, care, and management of scleroderma. We gathered data from patient organizations worldwide. This survey, launched in early 2023, aimed to better understand the journey of those living with the condition, their diagnostic experiences, the medical care they receive, and how they manage their condition. We also sought to learn more about how the disease has impacted not only their lives but also the lives of those around them.
You can find more details about the survey results on the FESCA website.
